Wilson NY Lions annual events

This event is one our our best events. It raises more than 25% of our annual budget. It normally takes place in the morning of Memorial Day during the hours of 8 and 12 am, We have 4 members man the main intersection of downtown Wilsons 4 corners. 1 shift per hour. Volunteers needed: 16

Our other main fundraising event (25%) which is held at the Wilson Historical Society usually on the 3rd week of July is our Basket Raffle. It is up to every Lion to help procure donations throughout the year from Friends, Businesses and other organizations for this event. Last year,(2023) Lion Nancy collected and ran the entire event. She is always in need of help.

Every year we host and annual Superbowl Pool, which usually kicks off October 1. There are 100 squares at $50.00 each. Reserve your number early. This is a major event. Contributing approx 25% of our annual community budget. Volunteers bring in your friends to take a square.

This is one of our biggest events the Wilson Lions has every year at the Wilson Fire Station #1. Candy is given out by volunteers along with raffles, Count Dracula, chances to win great prizes, and costume judging. Come join the fun and volunteer to help out

We set up hot cider and donuts in a carnival type atmosphere along with other organizations for Christmas cheer for the upcoming holidays. This event is usually held on the 1-2 week of December.

Normally held in winter during school sessions. We exam apprx 250 children from the local elementary school for early detection of eye problems that could affect learning. Then these exams are given to the school health department for review and further processing.
